What is detailing?

Detailing focuses on cleaning, polishing and protecting. It takes the idea of a valet service to another level. Whilst Valeting is usually associated with low cost, quick cleaning service, detailing involves using specialist products and techniques. This means that a detailing service provider must have a much higher level of product knowledge and be skilled in his techniques. Your detailing provider should be able to talk through these options with you, to arrive at the level of service you are most happy with. Whilst the cost of detailing will undoubtedly be higher than a valet service, detailing offers a mechanism to protect and perfect your vehicle’s appearance, thus improving / retaining it’s value. In the long run therefore, detailing services should more than pay for themselves.

What detail is best for me?

The answer to this question is definitely dependant on your own aims…. This may be to revitalise your vehicle and make upkeep easier for yourself, or to protect your new car, or perhaps to prepare your vehicle for sale or for a show, (or maybe you just want the shiniest car in the street!)… whatever you require, we have a service to meet your needs, and we’ll be happy to talk it through with you.

When should my car be detailed?

The best case scenario is to have your vehicle detailed from new, and then to keep up the service as regularly as the wax applied recommends. But whenever you decide to have your car detailed it’s a good decision…. In the summer a detail will protect your paintwork from UV rays and heat damage, in winter, a detail will protect your paintwork from salt, road spray and the winter climate in general.

How long will the detailed finish last?

The duration of the finish will depend on a number of factors, including how and where you use the vehicle and in what conditions, and on which products you choose (advice will be given). For the very best results we recommend regular (c.fortnightly) valet services and regular wax top-up services (every 4-6 months). We are happy to advise on products and techniques if you would like to do the ‘Valet’ services yourself.

What are the benefits of having my car detailed?

Apart from the obvious benefit of an immaculate vehicle, a detail will help maintain, and in many cases improve, the value of your car. A detail will provide you with results far beyond what is achievable at home, but having a professional detail will provide you with the basis for fantastic self up-keep thereafter. And we all know a cleaner car drives better!!

What are paint defects?

Cars can suffer paint defects from the factory (and most do!). Defects can occur from poor Valeting techniques and automated car-washes. Swirls, holograms, light and deep scratches and water marks are all examples of paint defects that can be eliminated or significantly improved through our detailing services.
